The Engineering Episode -1

Upon Return from BAL & a few years under service with my father, I took up to Pursue my Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Getting the Seat was in itself an good episode, with BMS college of Engg denying a seat to me for some flimsy reason.

I was asked to meet the Asst Director of Technical Education for my seat.

I was standing outside the Doors of the Concerned Asst Director, When a familiar face wished me & asked what was I upto in the corridor of the Dept.

I explained my Issued to him very casually & he said "Come with me". I expressed my reservations by saying " In a few moments the Asst Director would call me inside for a hearing..." Even before I could complete, the Gentle Man Smiled & said, Come to my chambers & we'll speak about it.

I took the bait & walked meekly behind him only to Realised that the Gentle man was the Deputy Director of Tech Education & the Asst Director was his subordinate.

With in mins I expressed the entire episode & he picked up his phone called the Principal of BMS college of engg asking him to provide admission to me & also said that I would be carrying a letter to that effect personally along with me & would be reaching the College campus in the next hour.

This was a support which I had never ever dreamt off.

Post admission it was a class room with a gang of most of us from SJ polytechnic, we as usual were back benchers.

Among many things, we were introduced to Computer programming on PASCAL & Basic.

A little expereince with Computers came in handy for these classes. Little did I know that the same Knowledge would kill my Engineering dreams.
